Meet Chad

Chad concentrates his practice on civil litigation and insurance coverage, with extensive experience defending condominiums, cooperatives, property developers, contractors, design professionals, restaurants, bars, Fortune 500 corporations, and small businesses.

Chad returns to Gallo Vitucci Klar LLP after five years running a staff counsel office for a national property and casualty insurance company. He began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office before transitioning to civil litigation.

With a diverse and accomplished background, Chad has tried numerous cases to verdict and has briefed and argued dozens of appeals. He has also served as outside general counsel for condominium and cooperative boards, as well as other corporate entities in New York.

Notable Victories:

  • Obtained summary judgment for crane rigger in multi-party lawsuit arising from catastrophic crane collapse accident in Manhattan.
  • Obtained dismissal of claims against security contractor through appeal in seminal case regarding voluntary participation in violence as superseding cause of injuries – Carreras v. Morrisania Towers Housing, et al., 107 A.D.3d 618 (N.Y. App. Div. 2013).
  • Lead trial counsel in several jury and bench trials that resulted in defense verdicts.
  • Recovered millions of dollars in property coverage loss through subrogation.
  • Successfully prosecuted numerous coverage actions in federal and state courts.
